Rothesay to Ettrick Bay via the Gortans Starting from the Discovery Centre, Rothesay at 10am and walking to Ettrick Bay via the Gortans on good tracks and footpaths. 5 miles, easy, led by Margaret (07585 325002).

Walk for Saturday, 27th September 2025
Glenmore and Ettrick - 9.45 bus to Ettrick bay from Guilford Square or 10am at the port to start the walk at the bottom of the Glenmore Road and walk to Upper Ettrick farm (elevation 41m) and follow a path up the hill to (195m elevation) and return to the farm and back to Ettrick Bay via Drumachloy farm. Approx 8 miles, moderate, picnic/cafe, The leader (Patrick, 07734 291751) will get the bus at Ardbeg. The track will be muddy so gaiters and poles are required. It's a lovely walk great views.

Scarrel Shore 09.45am bus north from Guildford Square to Ettrick Bay for a leisurely walk along the road by Scarrel shore and return to Ettrick Bay cafe. Buses return hourly from Ettrick Bay. 3 miles easy access, led by Martin (07757 625494).

Three Bays 09.45am bus south from Guildford Square to Kilchattan to walk along the shore, Bruchag sawmill, Stravanan Bay and West Island Way back to Kilchattan. 10 miles, moderate, led by Martin (07757 625494).

Loch Fad circular, starting at 10am from the Discovery Centre to walk to Loch Fad and up to the waterworks (but not to the top of Barone Hill) and back to Rothesay. 4 miles, easy, led by Paul (07541 080332).
