Largs to the Pencil monument 9am ferry from Rothesay and bus from Wemyss Bay to Largs to walk along the promenade to the Pencil Monument and back. Time for shopping and a cafe before returning to Rothesay. 2.5 miles, easy access. Meet at Rothesay ferry terminal in time for the 9am ferry to Wemyss Bay but do not purchase tickets until the walk leader, Shona (07881696035), confirms that the walk will go ahead.

Walk for Saturday 19th April 2025
Millport and Cumbrae 9am ferry from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay, bus to Largs and ferry to Cumbrae for moderate walk over the hill to Millport, returning by a short route back to the ferry to Largs, bus to Wemyss Bay and ferry to Rothesay. 7 miles, moderate. Bring a picnic. Please meet at the ferry terminal but don't buy your ticket until the walk leader, Peter (07925464035), confirms the walk will go ahead.

Greeto Mast and the Gogo Glen, Largs
10am ferry from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay, and bus to Largs to walk on mostly good paths with great views over Largs. The walk starts with a long, sometimes steep climb on excellent paths, and descends back to Largs on a good path with the occasional muddy patch. Bring a picnic, there’s a picnic table with a view at the mast. Cafes in Largs or at the ferry at the end. Meet in Rothesay ferry terminal for the 10am ferry but only buy your ticket when the leader, Barbara, 07412447676, confirms the walk will go ahead.

Wemyss Bay circular Walking up the Kelly Burn and through the caravan park to return via the shore to the ferry terminal at Wemyss Bay, 5 miles, easy. Take the 10am ferry from Rothesay to Wemyss Bay. Meet in the ferry terminal but do not purchase tickets till the leader, Barbara, confirms the walk will go ahead.
