Walk for Saturday, 4th July 2026
Tarbert Seafood Festival and walk Meet at Chapel Hill car park at 7.45 for car sharing to Rhubodach ferry at 8.10. Drive to Portavadie approx 50 mins, park cars. Go as foot passengers on Portavadie ferry at 9.30 as they are every hour only. Arrive Tarbert 10am for key events of food festival. Cafe C'dora for coffee/breakfast, then seafood festival and street market. Seafood demonstration in harbour. Afternoon various walk options, white beach short easy walk or any one of the 3 loops above the castle. Portavadie ferry home, probably 4 or 5pm and return to Rothesay. Contact the leader, Wendy (07752 251915) to arrange car sharing beforehand.

Walk for Saturday, 27th June 2026
River Eachaig circuit Meet 9.30am Chapel Hill car park for car sharing to Rhubodach for the 10.10 ferry, and drive to Benmore Gardens. This fairly level walk explores the banks of the rivers Eachaig and Massan, as well as the neighbouring natural woods and plantations, from Benmore gardens. Contact the leader a few days in advance to ensure you have a place in a car. 5 miles, easy, led by Paul (07541 080332).

Scarrel Shore 09.45am bus north from Guildford Square to Ettrick Bay for a leisurely walk along the road by Scarrel shore and return to Ettrick Bay cafe. Buses return hourly from Ettrick Bay. 3 miles, easy access, led by Marion (07791 903956).

Rothesay to Port Bannatyne Meet 10am at the Discovery Centre to walk along Barone Road and then follow the West Island Way to Port Bannatyne for our annual barbecue. 4 miles, easy, led by Barbara (07412 447676). If you're not walking but coming to the barbecue, aim to arrive about 12.30.
