Walk for Saturday 8th August 2026
Meet 0830 at Chapel hill car park for car sharing to travel on the 0910 Rhubodach ferry, then driving 8 miles from Colintaive to Glendarual village to start the walk. Walking up onto hill on far side of the Glen then along forest tracks before dropping down to return via old road/track to Glendaruel. Great views across the Glen, an impressive waterfall and passing a picturesque old church on the way out. About 7 miles, 4 hours (including time for lunch stops etc). Initial walk up from Glendaruel is fairly steep, with some muddy bits, thereafter straightforward walking. Contact walk leader, Peter (07925 464035), by Thursday 6th to allow for car sharing

Ettrick Bay to Rhubodach 9.45 bus north from Guildford Square to Ettrick Bay, to walk to Rhubodach via the West Island Way. Return from Rhubodach 14.40 bus. Rough terrain, muddy in places. Dress suitably and bring food and drink. 7 miles, moderate, led by Paul (07541 080332).

Two Caves 9.45am bus south from Guildford Square to Kilchattan orchard to walk by the airfield and beach to explore the caves, and return via Langalbuinoch to Kingarth. Buses return hourly from Kingarth. 6 miles, moderate, led by Patrick (07734 291751).
