Jim will be leading this Saturday's walk to the MoD bunker at Rhubodach, weather permitting. We catch the 10:15 am bus to Rhubodach from Guildford Square. Then we go up the Balnakelly Burn, turning off to the Farm and then take the track leading out to the Bunker. From there we backtrack onto the Balnakelly Loop and follow the direction of the West Island Way as far as the paths leading down to the Moss Wood picnic area. We will be taking a new intended path down to Bodger's Trail, and then follow the connecting circular trail backwards into the Moss Wood complex from above. The bus back to Rothesay is at 16:40 pm. You will need good walking boots, gaiters and pole(s) as well as a packed lunch and a hot drink. If conditions deteriorate before the second part of the walk, we can cut down to Rhubodach and cross to the Colintraive Hotel to await the bus. Hope to see you there!
Walkers are advised to take walking pole(s) and gaiters, personal First Aid kit, insect repellent, a drink, face covering for cafes and public transport.
