Thursday Walk: 24th January

As the weather isn't all that great (hi-ho wind and the rain), best to stay on the island doing a wood walk (while there's still any to walk in). So, I'm continuing with a Mt Stuart edge walk, it being the closed season.
So, it's the 9:45 am bus S from Guildford Sq. to New Farm. There's a new track there that, according to Google Earth, connects with an off-shoot path to the old Rifle Range that we stumbled across during our previous foray in that region. Eventually, we should arrive at Kingarth without getting too wet or cold. It's a 2-3 hour ramble.
Cheers,
Jim

 Thursday Walk: 17th January

This week's walk is an early start - 9am . It's a moderate/strenuous 10 contour  mi  saunter up to Ardnagave,  down the Pulling Burn, over  Barla Hill and back along the Kilmichael shore. Transport will be by car with pick- up point at Ardbeg shop. Take a picnic lunch & water. Poles and gaiters are probably necessary. Hope to see you there.

Thursday Walk: 10th January

I've been asked for a level walk, and so am going to take advantage  of Mt Stuart's seasonal closure to do the other coin-tossed option on the Mystery Walk, with a little variation. So it's the 9:45 bus S to the Bruchag Rd junction. A walking pole might be useful.
